Finger Lakes Gateway’s Continuous Learning Committee is proud to announce the launch of its inaugural session of Barstool University, “Shoot the Moon,” to be held Wednesday, October 15th, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Lakewood Winery in Watkins Glen.
This first program in the new Barstool University series brings together community, conversation, and curiosity in one inspiring evening. Attendees will enjoy an engaging presentation by Zoe Learner Pontiéro, Manager of the Spacecraft Planetary Image Facility at Cornell University, as she explores the timeless human fascination with the Moon—from the earliest photographs to the modern marvels of spacecraft imagery.
Just as the first lunar images captured humanity’s imagination, this event captures the spirit of what the Continuous Learning initiative is all about: expanding knowledge, fostering meaningful dialogue, and celebrating the intellectual vibrancy that strengthens our community.
Guests will gather among friends and colleagues at Lakewood Winery, enjoying fine local wine and relaxed conversation in an atmosphere that reflects both the charm and innovation of the Finger Lakes region.
The Continuous Learning Committee was established by the Finger Lakes Gateway Board of Directors to encourage professional and personal growth among local leaders and stakeholders. Through thoughtfully curated sessions like Shoot the Moon, the committee aims to bring together business owners, professionals, and community members to learn from experts, share ideas, and gain fresh perspectives.
We invite you to join us on this special evening as we raise a glass to curiosity, connection, and continuous learning.
