FLX Gateway has received a $30,000 grant from NYSEG to support national marketing of the Schuyler County Business Park, a New York State REDI Site – Gold designated location in Schuyler County.
The grant will fund participation in national site selection conferences, enhanced site listings, and updated marketing materials designed to connect this infrastructure-ready site with manufacturers and corporate decision-makers.
What Is the Schuyler County Business Park?
The Schuyler County Business Park is a 51-acre development-ready site located on State Route 414 just outside Watkins Glen in the Town of Dix.
The park currently offers:
A 19,000-square-foot pre-engineered building
Approximately 11,000 square feet available for lease
Fully prepared land for new construction
Municipal water and sewer service
Three-phase electric and natural gas from NYSEG
Fiber broadband access
Direct access to regional highway and rail networks
The site holds REDI Site – Gold designation, meaning key due diligence, environmental review, and infrastructure readiness steps have already been completed.
What Will the NYSEG Grant Support?
The $30,000 grant from NYSEG’s Economic Development Strategic Outreach Program will support:
Participation in national site selection conferences, including events hosted by the Site Selectors Guild
Direct outreach to site selection consultants and manufacturers
Enhanced listings on site selection platforms
Updated digital marketing materials highlighting REDI Gold status and available space
These efforts ensure the Business Park is visible in the competitive markets where business location decisions are made.
Why Is National Site Marketing Important?
Many rural communities prepare sites but struggle to gain visibility among national site selectors. Being “shovel-ready” is only part of the equation—decision-makers must know the site exists.
The NYSEG grant provides dedicated resources to consistently represent the Schuyler County Business Park at professional conferences and in national site selection networks. This helps position Schuyler County to compete for new manufacturing and year-round business investment.
What Does REDI Gold Designation Mean?
REDI Site – Gold designation confirms that a site has:
Completed environmental and engineering due diligence
Infrastructure capacity identified
Development constraints addressed
Documentation prepared for investors
This reduces risk, shortens timelines, and makes the site more competitive in the site selection process.
How Does This Support Economic Development?
By investing in strategic outreach tied to a certified, infrastructure-ready location, the NYSEG grant supports:
Business attraction
Manufacturing growth
Year-round employment
Increased private investment
Long-term economic competitiveness
FLX Gateway has participated in national marketing efforts before, but this grant allows for more consistent and focused representation of the Business Park in national markets.
