In August 2024, the Schuyler County Partnership for Economic Development announced the launch of Schuypreneur, an innovative new program designed to empower aspiring entrepreneurs with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed with helpful videos, tools and online resource available for free. As promised, next week Schuypreneur Boot Camp will kick off its first session, held at FLX Works, the coworking and incubator space located in downtown Watkins Glen, NY.
Schuypreneur Boot Camp will recapture the spirit and format that the original boot camps, held from 2016 – 2019, did. And they will feature the return of a familiar face, synonymous with entrepreneurialism, innovation, and excellence – Brad Treat, Entrepreneur in Residence for the Southern Tier Startup Alliance will once again serve as the main facilitator for this monthly, free program.
Schuypreneur Bootcamp will provide an intensive, hands-on opportunity for aspiring entrepreneurs to acquire the skills, strategies, and mindset needed to launch and grow a successful business. Participants will immerse themselves in practical workshops, expert-led sessions, and collaborative activities that cover every aspect of entrepreneurship—from idea validation and business planning to marketing, finance, and scaling and will build long-lasting mentoring opportunities and partnerships that will help to solidify the participant's future.

Assisting Brad with this program is Kerri Green, Senior Economic & Community Development Specialist at the Schuyler County Partnership for Economic Development. “I regularly work with emerging and current business owners who are looking for assistance with their projects. Whether they are new and trying to navigate their way through the basic startup best practices, current business owners looking to expand, those looking for financing options or even owners who are looking for succession planning assistance, this program will be a helpful resource for all. To bring this work into a group environment where we can learn from each other, provide guidance and support, and hopefully foster new businesses in Schuyler County is an exciting opportunity, and I am looking forward to working with and learning from Brad and our participants.”
Schuypreneur Boot Camp is a free program that will be held on the last Wednesday of the month at FLX Works, 216 N Franklin Street, Watkins Glen, NY. Registration is not required but does assist in planning a session targeted at those representatives and industries in attendance.
