What happens when you combine a local brewery, a curious audience, and a great speaker?

You get Talks on Tap—a new happy hour speaker series designed to make learning accessible, informal, and engaging.

In collaboration with Two Goats Brewing and Barstool University, this series invites the community to grab a drink, ask questions, and explore new ideas in a relaxed setting.

These aren’t long lectures. They’re short, thoughtful talks followed by conversation—designed for real engagement and real curiosity.

Upcoming Talks

April 9 | Truth in Public Records

6pm - 7pm @ Two Goats Brewing (5027 NY-414, Burdett, NY 14818)

Join Donna Boyce as she explores how public records are created, maintained, and sometimes challenged. From Freedom of Information Law to transparency in government, this session looks at how these issues impact everyday communities.

May 14 | Romance, Exploits & Peril: When Movies Were Made in Ithaca

6pm - 7pm @ Two Goats Brewing (5027 NY-414, Burdett, NY 14818)

Before Hollywood dominated film, the Finger Lakes—especially Ithaca—played a surprising role in early silent film production. Diana Riesman of the Wharton Studio Museum shares that story and what remains of this legacy today.

Why It Matters

This series is about more than just learning—it’s about community connection.

  • Bringing people together across interests

  • Making complex topics approachable

  • Supporting local venues and collaboration

  • Creating space for curiosity and conversation

It’s a simple idea with real impact: learning that fits into your life.
