IDA Financial Assistance
The Schuyler County Industrial Development Agency (IDA) uses a structured process to review and approve projects seeking IDA financial assistance. Applicants are encouraged to begin with an early conversation before submitting a full application.
1
Start with a Pre-Application Conversation
Before submitting an application, businesses are strongly encouraged to contact the IDA CEO to confirm:
-
Whether the project meets eligibility requirements under NYS General Municipal Law
-
What information and documentation will be required
-
The expected process timeline and anticipated fees
2
Submit a Complete Application Package
Applications must be submitted at least 10 business days before the next formal IDA meeting, along with all required supporting documents and the $500 non-refundable application fee.
3
Key Approval Steps
Projects typically move through these stages:
-
Inducement Resolution (initial determination of eligibility)
-
Public Hearing (community comment period in the affected municipality)
-
Authorizing Resolution (final approval of incentives)
-
Project Closing (legal documentation and settlement of fees/payments)
